TEFMA / SKM INNOVATION AWARD

General
TEFMA has strong support for "best practise" and innovation
in the Facilities Management profession. In association with Sinclair
Knight Merz, TEFMA is introducing its new premier award, the Innovation
Award, which will be open for submissions for the 2007 year from
1st March 2007.
The terms of the Award are:
- It will be judged every second year beginning 2007.
- The judging panel can decide not to award.
- Timing:
Applications open 1st March 2007
Applications close 30th April 2007
Winner (if awarded) announced at Awards Dinner at Canberra TEM
Aim
The aim of this Award is to reward and recognise a member or institution
who/which has developed and fully implemented a:
- Practice, or
- Process, or
- Physical development
Which is innovative and has improved the delivery and/or efficiency
and effectiveness of facilities, their management and services.
It is intended that the practice/process/development will be "Best
practice, and best in class".
Eligibility
During each biennial Award period there is no limit on the number
of nominations per institution.
Non Award winning entries are able to be upgraded and resubmitted
in subsequent years.
The applicant must be an individual member of TEFMA or an institutional
member of TEFMA.
Application and Selection
Invitations to apply for the Award will be circulated to all members.
The invitation shall clearly indicate the closing date for receipt
of applications and the address to which they are to be forwarded.
Reminders should also be promulgated.
The Award is made after consideration of the responses to the
Selection Criteria on the Selection Criteria form.
Selection of the successful applicant/institution will be determined
by the TEFMA Board following receipt of a recommendation from a
Panel established to review the applications.
The Review Panel shall be made up of the following members:
- Chair, Membership Services Committee
- A Practising Academic in the Field of Facilities Management
- A Past President of TEFMA

SUBMISSIONS
An institution may enter more than one proposal, submitting a
separate application for each entry. Unsuccessful entries from previous
years may be updated and resubmitted in subsequent years. Applicants
should ensure that all relevant and descriptive/visual information
is presented to the best of their ability, as the judging panel
will rely solely on the submitted documentation in their review.
No onsite visits will occur except in tie-breaking circumstances.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
The criteria for judging is:
- Institutional Benefit 10%
- Innovation, creativity and originality 40%
- Sector benefit and sustainability 20%
- Documentation, analysis, customer input and best practice 20%
- Management commitment and employee involvement 10%
- Total 100%

THE AWARD
